Diabetes Prevention Program (CDC DPP)
The Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) National Diabetes Prevention Program, an evidence-based program, will educate participants on lifestyle changes for preventing type 2 diabetes and other chronic conditions. This program is open to all adults. Participants will:
- Learn how to make real lifestyle changes such as eating healthier, adding physical activity into their daily lives, and improving problem solving;
- Meet with a trained lifestyle coach (i.e. MSU-Extension Agents) and a small group of people who are making lifestyle changes to prevent diabetes; and
- Learn about prediabetes, identify those at risk for type 2 diabetes, and how to make achievable realistic lifestyle changes to cut the risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%.
