MSU – Extension Office Protocol for COVID-19

The Extension office is open to clients, however we are continuing to practice social distancing and masks are required to be worn when entering office. All programs continue to be cancelled until October 1st, except for programs presented through virtual technology. However, we do plan to begin in person meetings in October with 15 people or less. Please follow our Facebook Page at MSU-ES Yalobusha County Extension Service for more information about upcoming programs. Stay Vigilant; Stay Healthy.

ServSafe Online Exam offered at Extension Office on September 29th

Due to the recent guidelines put in place during COVID-19 crisis, we have had to cancel all face to face ServSafe Classes.  However, we have been approved to offer onsite exam proctoring only (one person at a time).  Interested participants should contact the Extension office at 675-2730 and further instructions will be given as well as a testing date and time.  You will need to purchase a seat code from for $36.00.  And MSU-Extension will charge $74 to proctor the exam (with no book) or $114 (to proctor exam and purchase book).  You can register online at or come by the Yalobusha County Extension Office.  If you were registered for a class that was cancelled due to COVID-19 please contact the Extension Office and we will assist you.

4-H Cooking Kits!

In September we will offer a 4-H Cooking kit which will include a set of instructions, surprise recipe, all of the ingredients needed to make the recipe and a surprise kitchen item! 4-H Cooking kits give youth an opportunity to learn and practice cooking skills at home, spend time with family and explore new interests in foods.  This is open to youth ages 5 and up.  However, younger and/or inexperienced youth will require adult supervision. Please register by Friday, September 18th!  Registration forms can be mailed, emailed or faxed to the Extension office.  There is a $5 participation fee that will help cover the cost of the kit.  The September kit will be available for pickup on Thursday, September 24th from 8 a.m. until 5p.m. Once you have completed making your recipe send us pictures of you with your completed recipe.  We also love action shots of you while you are making your recipe!  You can email or text me or post to our Facebook page.  For more information contact me at or 675-2730.
