Recognizing volunteers for their hard work and dedication is very important to the 4-H Youth Development Program. The nomination form has been revised, which has simplified the process of nominating volunteers for outstanding awards. The deadline for submitting nominations is January 31, 2020. Awardees will be recognized at the Annual MVLA Banquet, which will be held February 21, 2020, at Mississippi State University Bost Building B Conference Center.

Harvey Gordon Rising Star 4-H Volunteer Award

A volunteer must have served from one to three years to be considered for this award. One volunteer per Extension Region will be recognized.

Outstanding 4-H Volunteer Leader of the Year Award

A volunteer must have served from three to ten years to be considered for this award. One volunteer per Extension Region will be recognized.

Lifetime 4-H Volunteer Leader of the Year Award

A volunteer must have served more than ten years to be considered for this award. One volunteer per Extension Region will be recognized.

MVLA Officer Nominations:

Nominations will be accepted for volunteers who would like to run for an officer position with the Mississippi 4-H Volunteer Leaders Association. Nomination forms are due January 31, 2020. This year the following offices will be elected during the Annual 4-H Volunteer Leader’s Conference: President Elect, Vice-President, Secretary, and Parliamentarian. In order to be considered for one of the aforementioned offices, the candidate must be a registered 4-H volunteer leader. Candidates must also be prepared to make a three-minute campaign speech during MVLA Annual Business Meeting on Saturday morning, February 22, 2020. The enclosed form should be returned by January 31. With your help, we can put together an excellent slate of officers to serve Mississippi 4-H.
