Turf and Ornamental Pest Management Short Course

The Turf and Ornamental Pest Management Short Course provides professional pest management training for owners, managers, technicians, workers, salespersons, certified applicators, and others working in turf and ornamental pest control.

This includes persons who do not have a professional license but work in the turf and ornamental plant industry and need to know more about the insect, disease, and weed pests they are likely to encounter.

Participants may also receive recertification credit in: Horticulture Weed Control license (HCW); Horticulture Pest Control license (HCP); Turf and Ornamentals Commercial Applicator Certificate (Category III). (Check your card to see when your license or certification expires. Recertification may occur up to 1 year before expiration.)

This training is co-sponsored by the Mississippi State University Extension Service and the Mississippi Department of Agriculture and Commerce/Bureau of Plant Industry.

This is a one-day face-to-face training with three hours of training in the morning, a one-hour break for lunch (provided on-site), and 3 hours of training in the afternoon (5-6 training hours).
