Steps To Control Aquatic Weeds

Follow these 4 steps for controlling aquatic weeds:

  1. Identify the problem weed. We provide a dichotomous key and thumbnail photographs to help you out. If you are unable to identify the weed through these methods, see the instructions for weed sample submission. If you already know what the weed is, you may browse our list of common weeds for information on that plant.

  2. Choose the most economical and efficient control method (biological, chemical, or mechanical). If you select a chemical method of control, be sure it is both economical and safe as well as effective.

  3. Calculate pond area and volume to be treated.

  4. Follow the label instructions for any chemicals.
