Chemical Treatments

Read and follow label instructions before using any chemical in water. Dilute with enough water to permit even coverage over area to be treated. There may be restrictions or waiting periods on treated water.

• Aquathol (Endothall) - 2 gallons per surface acre, although it may be necessary to use as much as 2 gallons per acre foot in some cases.
• Reward (Diquat) - 1 gallon per acre foot.
• 2,4-D - 1/2 gallon plus 8 ounces of surfactant (dishwashing detergent) plus 50 gallons of water per surface acre. Mix and spray evenly on foliage.
• Renovate - 2 to 8 quarts plus a non-ionic surfactant per surface acre of plant coverage (not entire pond acreage.) Mix and spray evenly over plant leaves.

Biological Treatments

Grass carp provide moderate control of parrotfeathers and water milfoils. Generally, 5 to 10 grass carp per surface acre will control weeds. See publication 1894 - Grass Carp in Mississippi Farm Ponds for more information.
