Results indicate there is a positive willingness to pay (WTP) for technology relative to conventional cottonseed, and WTP increases with
the level of technology. There is also a positive WTP for yield and quality. Larger farms have a higher WTP for technology, and farms with more farm labor have a lower WTP for technology. These results suggest there are economies of size in technology adoption (biotechnology is not size-neutral), and labor and biotechnology are direct substitutes.

Understanding and Managing Cattle Shrink http://msucares.com/pubs/publications/p2577.pdf Cattle are typically marketed and transported several times in their lives. Marketing and transportation can be the most fatiguing and stressful events in a feeder calf’s life. Each move not only stresses calves and increases the risk of bovine respiratory disease and associated death, but also results in weight loss that must be regained after arrival. In addition, shipping cattle typically involves feed and water deprivation that contributes to weight loss.

This liveweight loss in cattle is commonly called shrink. Shrink also can refer to weight loss in carcasses or retail cuts. In addition to reduced liveweight and carcass yield, transport and handling stress can negatively impact meat quality, as well.

FNP - Safe Food Sense http://msucares.com/pubs/publications/p2379.pdf Save grocery shopping for last on your to-do list. Shop for cold foods last and get it home
fast.

Never leave food in a hot car; this will cause food spoilage bacteria to grow. The
temperature danger zone for potentially dangerous foods is 40 degrees to 140 degrees. Do not buy foods
in containers that are leaking or bulging; or damaged cans, cracked jars, or jars with loose
or bulging lids. These foods could contain the rare and often fatal botulism poison.
