A
Tables
2-11 list compounds and rates tested in Mississippi and the
related mean percentages of control. Compounds are arranged
by insecticide class or grouped as combinations. "Number of
applications" refers to the number of times the insecticide
was applied, and "N" refers to the number of trials each
year that included a particular compound or mixture and
rate. Means were computed by averaging percent control
values obtained from each individual trial that evaluated
the compound and rate. Because some evaluations were made by
sampling adults, some by sampling nymphs, and some by
sampling both adults and nymphs together, these tables
represent means of total numbers of plant bugs. Some
duplication of formulations and rates may occur because of
the compound designations in the trials. Experimental
compound designations were not changed to trade names, for
example, and were generally left the names as entered in the
original trial reports.
