Location Summary

This test was located in an area that historically has had severe iron chlorosis symptoms. The test was composed of 6 reps of two-row plot yields, and ratings were made on all reps. Visual ratings were made at early to mid podfill for each maturity group (1=no yellowing, 5=severe yellowing). Ratings were made for the early MG IV, late MG IV, and MG V cultivars. The visual symptoms for the MG VI cultivars did not reach a level that would allow ratings to be made. Correlation coefficients between final yield and visual ratings were -0.68, -0.72, and -0.41 for the early IV, late IV, and V cultivars, respectively. These values indicate that on the average as the level of yellowing increased, the yield decreased.
