Location Summary

Soil conditions were good at time of planting. Light showers the week following planting helped achieve good uniform emergence. Soil moisture was good early, allowing good growth during the vegetative stage. A relatively dry July and August caused some drought stressed periods. September remained relatively dry, causing seeds to be somewhat smaller than normal. Heat from mid-July until early September caused shedding of blooms and some blanks during pod fill. Previous crop was corn on this site. This site has weed pressure mainly from sicklepod. This is why we used Scepter and two applications of Classic.
