Timely planting and adequate moisture resulted in excellent stand establishment. Six inches of rain over a 3-day period resulted in water-logged soils and slowed growth. Sufficient rainfall in June allowed for pod development and fill. Extremely dry conditions during July and August resulted in short plants.
