Cool conditions, with temperatures in the low 30's for up to 21 days following planting, and wet soil conditions were stressful to the corn seedlings. These conditions resulted in some hybrids showing moderate to severe injury from Dual, which resulted in low and variable plant populations. The low plant population and highly variable yield resulted in high CV's. Therefore, no data is reported. May was a moderately dry month with only 2.18 inches of rain, of which 1.15 inches were received on May 3. This damaged early maturing hybrids more so than later maturing hybrids.
