Mississippi 4-H Field & Stream

Mississippi 4-H Field and Stream logoThe Mississippi 4-H Field and Stream Program is a joint venture between the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries at Mississippi State University and 4-H. Cooperative Extension Service professionals and volunteers coordinate Field and Stream statewide. 4-H Field and Stream strives to enable young people aged 8-18 years, their parents and adult volunteers to become responsible, self-directed and productive members of society. County and 4-H agents, leaders,instructors and coaches work with youth in county-based clubs, teaching them safe and responsible use of firearms and archery equipment, hunting techniques,and wildlife habitat management and conservation. Youth receive training, and then participate in shooting and wildlife events at local and statewide events.Many different activities are available, including wildlife habitat evaluation, shotgun, rifle, archery, black powder, pistol, hunting, and quail and small game habitat management.
