Child care business training set for December 1-3
MISSISSIPPI STATE – Mississippi State University is offering training for those who would like to open a child-care business and for administrators of established centers.
The Child Care as a Business training will be presented by the Mississippi Child Care Resource and Referral Network Dec. 1-3 at the Bolivar, Forrest, Lee, Lincoln, Montgomery, Pearl River, Scott and Yalobusha county Extension offices.
This intensive, three-day workshop will be held each day from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and will cover topics such as how to get started, professionalism, marketing, licensure regulations, discipline, communicating with parents, child nutrition, menu planning, and health and safety. Speakers from a variety of professions and members of state and local organizations will participate in the series.
“We encourage those interested to register soon,” said Melissa Tenhet, MSCCR&R Network project director. “It will be a good opportunity to interact with child-care professionals around the state and really learn the ins and outs of running a high-quality child-care business.”
To register, contact one of the participating county Extension offices. For more information, contact Meredith Betts at (662) 325-4129, or visit http://www.childcaremississippi.org.
