Spring garden expo coming to VeronaMISSISSIPPI STATE -- Anyone looking to add some sparkle to their home lawn will find lots of ideas at the North Mississippi Spring Garden Day. Featured speakers include Mississippi State University Extension horticulturist Mengmeng Gu, who will give a presentation on plants for shade gardening, and plant columnist Jim Long with a program on cutting-edge plants. Lori Hitchcock with Natchez Trace Greenhouses in Kosciusko will be on the program with “Wild and Wacky Mixed Container Combinations,” and Jim Mills, owner of K and M Nursery in Buckatunna, will discuss growing roses. MSU Extension horticulturist Norman Winter will have information on new plants for 2007. Area nurseries will have a good selection of plants for sale during the day-long event and the “Plant Doctor” will be on hand to answer questions about lawn and garden plants.
