More than one-hundred years ago, the Palmer Home for Children was established to help children who lack the nurture and support of a loving family In addition to primary education, the home offers a variety of programs to help develop the work ethic and job skills of its young residents. Growing and selling poinsettias for the holiday season is one of the activities that helps the young people develop the skills they will use in the future. Farmweek’s Amy Taylor reports.
