U.S. Representative Travis Childers (D-MS 1st District) visited
Verona, Vardaman and Batesville December 14 with
U.S. Department of Agriculture Deputy Undersecretary Michael Scuse.
The purpose was to show USDA the damage caused by
this fall's rain and brainstorm on ways USDA can alleviate the situation.
Childers said he could not promise when or if
his direct disaster payment bill might be passed.
