FARM BILL FATE UNCERTAIN IN U.S. SENATE

Fights over amendments are slowing down the bill’s passage. Republicans are afraid a new energy bill might not pass so they want to raise the Renewable Fuels Standard by including it in the Farm Bill. The Democrats are also afraid the Energy Bill won't pass. They believe if the RFS is put in the Farm Bill...it will be one more reason the Energy Bill will fail. The Renewable Fuel Standard requires the use of fuels made from renewable sources like ethanol and bio-diesel.
