that Canada's one case of "mad cow disease came into the country in 1998
in a herd of pregnant cows from the United States. One senior Canadian
official says there is a 95% chance the cow was born in Canada. |

ANTIBIOTIC BAN - Beginning next year, McDonald's meat suppliers
cannot use "medically-important antibiotics as a way to promote growth.
An Iowa State University study found a similar ban Denmark increased,
not decreased, the overall use of antibiotics in swine. Young animals
became sick more often so veterinarians had to treat them. |
