SETS SIGN UP PERIODS FOR COTTONSEED, CRP AND WRP. Cottonseed assistance
will run about $3 per bale ($8 per ton) and it will be shared by ginners
with farmers (Sign-up runs May 2-23).
Conservation Reserve Program sign up will run from May 5-30 at Farm
Service Agency offices.
Environmental Quality Incentives Program and Wetland Reserve Program
sign-up takes place at local offices of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's
Natural Resources Conservation Service. $59.5 million is available
for technical and financial assistance. These are available to non-farm
landowners. |

LUNDY
INDUCTED NATIONAL 4-H HALL OF FAME - Francis Lundy of Jackson
was inducted posthumously. The Neshoba County native served 20+ years
on the 4-H Club Foundation of Mississippi (11 years as chairman).
The Foundations holdings grew by more than $1 million during his tenure.
Lundy and his wife established the Francis and Emma Nell Lundy Endowment
for 4-H youth leadership. Lundy passed away in April 2001. |
