BOLL WEEVIL REFERENDUM IS VALID - VOTES COUNTED THURSDAY - 71% of the ballots had been returned in Mississippi's Region 2 (South Delta) by Monday. That in excess of the 50% needed for a valid referendum. Votes will be counted Thursday in USDA/FSA county offices. Outcome will determine if the region will enter the maintenance phase of the boll weevil eradication program. |
