Farm Management
How can the average farmer or citizen influence agricultural policy?
By law, the legislative and regulatory process of our government must involve formal and informal input from citizens and interest groups. This input can be delivered formally in public hearings or written comments to proposed rules. Informal input involves contacting your representatives in Congress. You can also participate in the process by directing the policy and lobbying efforts of your representative organizations (e.g., Farm Bureau, commodity groups, or citizens groups).
