Annual Awards Program
“Cultivating Youth and Communities through Gardening”

Call for Nominations

Purpose:
The purpose of this awards program is to reward and recognize the outstanding accomplishments of individuals and groups involved in the Mississippi 4-H Junior Master Gardener Program during the year 2007.

Mississippi 4-H JMG Recognition Awards:
The following awards will be presented at the 2008 Mississippi Master Gardener Conference in Natchez, MS on May 1, 2008.

To apply, complete the appropriate application (click on award above to link to application) and submit to the address at the bottom of this page before March 3, 2008. Winners will be notified on or before March 28, 2008, and formally recognized at the Mississippi Master Gardener Conference.

Nomination criteria:

  • Nominees are not eligible if they have won an award the last two consecutive years.
  • All nominees must have been affiliated with a registered Mississippi 4-H JMG group during the award year of 2007.
  • The application must be complete and accurate. Written application should NOT exceed two pages. The criteria used to evaluate each nominee are listed by award category
  • Supporting documentation, including newspaper articles, letters of support, and/or photographs may be submitted but should NOT exceed four pages.
  • Videos and CDs containing presentations or images may be submitted as supplemental information.
  • All applications, pictures, and materials submitted become the property of the Mississippi 4-H JMG program.
  • All applications must be submitted to the Mississippi 4-H Junior Master Gardener program office by March 3, 2008. Include the original application as well as three additional copies for the judges.
