Pesticide
Training
To become a commercial pesticide applicator one must
complete and pass two examinations. The first exam is the
General Standards and the second exam is in the particular
category the applicator selects. The self-study manuals for
the examinations can be obtained from Mississippi State
University Extension Service and by contacting the Pesticide
Education Program Assistant at 601-857-2284. All the
category self-study manuals cost $15.00, except the Category
VII Industrial, Institutional, Structural & Health
Related manual which is $23.00. Payment for the self-study
manuals is made to the Central Mississippi Research and
Extension Center and payment must be received before the
manuals are mailed. For individuals on campus you can go by
the Entomology and Plant Pathology Department and purchase
the manuals, payment for the manuals must be made when
receiving the manual or manuals.
