Agromedicine

What is Agromedicine?

Agromedicine deals with illnesses and injuries that are commonly seen in agricultural communities. In our area, some of the illnesses include diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. Potential injuries include sun exposure, hearing loss, ATV accidents, PTO injuries, and tractor rollovers.

How can the Agromedicine Program help our community?

The Agromedicine Program will be offering instruction for Farm Family First Responders this winter to local farm families and farm workers. This training will better equip those who are likely to be present when farm accidents occur. The goal of this training is to decrease the number and severity of injuries on local farms.

Upcoming Projects

The Agromedicine Program is currently involved in several projects primarily centered around the Mississippi Delta.
