Taking Care of Yourself and
Your Family
Current
Situation
MSU Extension Service
self care programs are designed to help individuals and families become
active partners in health care and achieve health goals. Good health makes
it possible to conserve limited resources for more tangible necessities
than medical bills and sick care. Extension health programs focus on healthy
behaviors and active consumerism and how to take care of minor health
problems at home.
Learning how to take
care of yourself and your health is one of the most important things you
can learn. This may be easier than you think because you do not have to
know all about diseases and their treatment to make good health decisions.
You will need to know where to find information on home treatment of a
problem, when to use home treatment, and when to see your doctor or nurse
practitioner.
