Mississippi State University Facilities Policy (Key Issues)
- University facilities cannot be used for commercial or political activities without prior approval of the Board of Trustees.
- The Bost Conference Center is to be used for educational activities; no dances are allowed.
- If a recognized organization is producing revenue, a facility rental fee will be charged.
- If a set-up is requested, a set-up fee will be charged from Facilities Use.
Bost Conference Center Requirements
- DO NOT ATTACH ANYTHING TO ANY WALL OR PODIUM. Tape of any kind, staples, or nails are prohibited.
- NO FOOD OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE THEATER.
- It is mandatory that electrical cords must be covered or taped down. Both tape and cord covers are provided if needed. It is your responsibility to do this.
- It is your responsibility to contact MSU Parking Services and obtain visitor parking permits for your attendees, and either register or have your guest register their vehicles with MSU Parking Services by using the parking permits.
- If your meeting is on a weekend, the contact person is responsible for securing a code to get into the building and/or making arrangements for times for the building to be unlocked and locked. It is also the contact person’s responsibility to know how to turn on lights, projector, etc.
- There is a 9:00 p.m. curfew for student groups using the Bost Conference Center. MSU faculty or staff must be present during weekend events sponsored by student groups, and signature must be on Student Activity form. Student groups must use MSU Dining Services if food is involved with programs.
- If you are using MSU Dining Services for your refreshments, when you place your order you will also need to inform them of a time to come back to pick up their equipment and clutter.
- For MSU Departments, outside caterers are allowed in Bost. It is your responsibility to either inform the caterer to remove all food and garbage from the building or for the removal of all food and garbage. This means all debris should be placed in large plastic bags, tied and actually placed in the dumpster behind the building. Extra bags are kept in the janitor’s closet located at the back of the coatroom.
- The Theater has an in-house digital projector. A $25.00 fee is charged to non MSU-ES groups. If you will be using the digital projector, you are responsible for it. Only the contact person or operator is allowed in the projection room. Please ask for instructions to operate the projector before your meeting begins.
- An $8.00 fee will be charged per table for skirting tables for non MSU-ES groups.
- Be sure to remove all materials and equipment after your meeting. This includes all decorations and balloons.
