This is a business which requires daily attention to insure that all equipment is working properly (fans, vents, irrigation emitters, heaters, etc.) and that there are no invasions of insect or disease pests. However, in Mississippi the industry has expanded from 15 growers to 135 growers between 1988 and this year. Mississippi is ranked 11h in the U.S. in greenhouse tomatoes.
