Rules
and Regulations
- Those responsible
for animals must have an original official health certificate for each
animal. All animals must be free of any contagious, infectious,
or communicable disease. In addition, any special rules required
by the Mississippi Board of Animal Health for a particular species must
be followed.
- All syringe needles
must be discarded in medical waste disposal containers.
- Requirement of
emergency medical technicians (EMT's) will be at the discretion of the
MS Horse Park manager.
- No alcoholic beverages
are allowed on MS Horse Park grounds at any time.
- Cooking and heaters
are not allowed in the stall barns.
- No straw or hay
may be used as bedding in barns or buildings unless special arrangements
have been made for removal. Such arrangements must be approved
by the MS Horse Park manager.
- Dispose of all
bedding waste and manure from stalls in containers designated for bedding
waste only.
- Overnight parking
of trailers or vehicles is allowed only in parking lots designated for
overnight parking.
- All vehicles and
trailers must be parked in designated areas. Trailers and vehicles
parked in nondesignated areas may be towed at the discretion of the
MS Horse Park manager and at the owner's expense.
- The MSU Horse Park
manager must approve any fasteners (nails or screws) used in barns or
stalls before installation.
- All vehicles and
animals must be kept off grassy areas unless otherwise approved by MS
Horse Park manager.
- Dogs must be kept
on a leash while on the show grounds. Dogs will not be permitted
in the indoor arena building unless the event is a sanctioned dog show.
Canine violators may be impounded at the discretion of the MS Horse
Park manager.
- Horses must not
be ridden on paved surfaces.
- Horses staying overnight must be stalled.
- Those responsible
for animals should bring their animals no earlier than 24 hours before
the event.
- The indoor arena
is to be used only during designated show hours. Warm-up times
must be approved by the MS Horse Park manager.
- Associations or
breed registries will be allowed to schedule no more than three events
each year and will have the option of reserving the same dates for the
succeeding year. Exceptions may be granted by the MS Horse Park
manager on a year-by-year basis.
- All stalls occupied
by horses must have at least one bag of shavings.
- Do not tie horses
in the halls of the barns, under covered areas or in the arenas or stall
fees will be charged.
- Only one horse per stall is permitted unless otherwise approved by MS Horse Park manager.
- All farrier services must be performed in the wash racks or areas designated by the manager.
