4-H Modeling Project

Clothing selection, proper hygiene, posture, nutrition, presentation skills and proper manners are all issues for success.  Mississippi youth have few opportunities to attain mastery of these highly important aspects.  The Mississippi 4-H Modeling project addresses these issues by teaching youth how to make decisions to assist in their success. 

The Mississippi 4-H Modeling project will help boys and girls ages 8-18 to:

  1. Build self-confidence
  2. Gain knowledge to make healthy life choices regarding nutrition and exercise
  3. Develop an awareness for the various careers and opportunities available in the clothing industry
  4. Gain knowledge and skills for planning, presenting, and participating in fashion shows
  5. Learn responsibility for carrying out job assignments
  6. Share their knowledge and skill with each other
  7. Learn skills needed to plan and select an appropriate garment for different occasions
  8. Learn skills to deal with clothing retailers, owners, and managers
  9. Learn skills to be comfortable in social and professional situations
