Life Skills

Life skills are the abilities young people can learn to help them lead productive and satisfying lives. According to Patricia Hendricks they are "the tools to cope with whatever life brings." For example, one life skill is resiliency — the ability to see a difficulty as a problem that can be endured or resolved. Another is managing feelings or handling feelings so they are appropriately expressed. As kids master these and other life skills, they'll be able to better protect their health and lives.
