Community Pride

Description

Community Pride is a grants and awards program sponsored by the Chevron Companies and administered by Mississippi State University Extension Service. Community Pride projects should emphasize environmental improvements and awareness in one's community.

Eligibility

All youth-serving organizations are eligible, including school classes.

Grants

Mini-grants in the amount of $200-$400 are available on a semi-annual basis. The grants are designed to be "seed" money in that they are intended to stimulate local investments by the community.

Awards

Monetary awards and certificate of achievement are guaranteed for each grantee that submits an annual progress report. The following breaks the awards into overall and participant levels.

Governor's Award, $500
Lt. Governor's Award, $400
Mr. Speaker’s Award, $300
Congressional District Awards, $200

Blue Award, $35
Red Award, $25
White Award, $15

The overall awards are presented to the top three projects statewide and the top project in each congressional district. The participant awards are presented in blue, red, or white categories to all remaining projects an annual progress report. No group can receive more than one monetary award.
