4-H Home Page || MSUcares Home Page Mississippi Operation 4-H Relief Mississippi "Operation 4-H Relief Dollars Today" The simplest and most expedient way to help our thousands of 4-H youth effected by Hurricane Katrina is by financial contributions. One state has set a goal of raising $1.00 per each of their state's 4-H members to send to 4-H youth effected by Katrina. What a great idea! Whether a state, county 4-H program, or 4-H club this would be a tremendous way to show 4-H initiative, enthusiasm, caring and support. Individual, corporate, organization and association donors, this is your way to help the youth of Mississippi in a very tangible way. Any contribution of any size will go directly to our 4-H youth relief efforts. Donations may be made through a secure server: The MS 4-H Foundation is a 501c3 tax deductible organization chartered in 1952. Your entire gift will go directly to our youth. Each contributor will be recognized in our "Katrina's Book of Friendship" to be eventually displayed in the Mississippi 4-H Museum. 4-H Member Project Recovery Grants As a part of the support provided from 4-H clubs, members, programs, corporate and individual donors from within Mississippi and across America were funds specifically identified to help individual Mississippi 4-H members who suffered loss to their 4-H project(s). The 4-H Club Foundation of Mississippi, as recipient of these funds on behalf of the Mississippi 4-H Program, has developed the following proposal guidelines for Mississippi 4-H members to follow in seeking financial support to assist in the recovery of their 4-H project(s). Purpose: The purpose of this Grants Program is to provide a fair and equitable means of sharing specific resources with our individual 4-H members who suffered loss of their 4-H project(s). Process: Review the guidelines provided to determine eligibility. Complete the application providing all information and appropriate signatures required. Submit the completed application with any applicable supporting documents to Dr. Susan Holder, State 4-H Leader, Box 9601, Mississippi State, MS 39762. DEADLINE: Postmarked not later that Thursday, July 20, 2006. A committee appointed by the 4-H Club Foundation Board Chairman will convene to review all applications and make formal recommendations to the Executive Committee of the 4-H Club Foundation. The Executive Committee will make final approval and authorize applicable payments to approved proposals. Payments in full will be made as quickly as possible once final selection has been made. Until the full amount of funds available, the total number of applications made, and the amounts being sought by each applicant are known there will be no maximum or minimum individual grant amount announced. This program is not designed to fully replace but to assist in overcoming loss. A separate request is required for each Project. Mississippi Operation 4-H Relief School Supply Kits
