What are the requirements for entering my collection in the fair?

Insect collections may be entered in most county, area and state fairs. In order to qualify for the Mississippi State Fair (Jackson) and the Mid-South Fair (Memphis) collectors must be 4-Hers and they must have a minimum of 50 insects and 11 orders. Collections must have received a red or blue ribbon at the county level.

Insects should be pinned on insect pins and have date/locality/collector and common name identification labels on each specimen. Refer to IS 657 for complete instructions on preparing a winning collection. Specimens should also be placed in a standard display box.
