2005 was a great year for collecting at both camps. More than 3,600 insects were collected during the two camps. A breakdown by camp follows.

Kings Arrow Ranch

  • 1,847 insects
  • 22 orders
  • Orders Collected - Blattaria, Coleoptera, Collembola, Dermaptera, Diptera, Ephemeroptera, Hemiptera, Homoptera, Hymenoptera, Isoptera, Lepidoptera, Mantodea, Neuroptera, Odonata, Orthoptera, Phasmida, Plecoptera, Psocoptera, Siphonaptera, Thysanoptera, Thysanura, Tricoptera

Both of these camps set records for the number of insects and the number of orders. The previous high number of insects collected was 1677 at Tombigbee State park in just 17 orders. Way to go, Campers!!!
